Design Awards anoints the people, places and particular things of the year. The Portuguese capital is on a cultural and architectural roll after a programme of regeneration stretching from the centre to the Baixa waterfront. The Amanda Levete-designed Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology is a new icon for the city, which has also seen the inaugural edition of the ARCOLisboa art fair and the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, featuring the work of Johnston Marklee, Nuno Brandão Costa and Office KGDVS.
